Very often my fan rattles loudly. Sounds like a piece of plastic or something found its way into the fan area. It doesn't happen all the time, but I hear it even during post when the system throttles the fan at startup.
I am wondering if anyone else is experiencing this.
Also, is this fan a bearing type or bushing type.
Is it able to be replaced and any replacement suggestions?

Other than that, I am still very pleased with this PC after 2 months of heavy and continuous video recording, converting, and serving.

    Regards to all,

    Hi,

Did you already make contact with the seller?
Because I heat nothing as my friends that have the GLK-UC2X.

Tell the seller first and the will help you for sure.

4EAE6703-DB62-4F80-ACFF-1D87FB3B73F8.jpeg Windows did an update this morning and told me to reboot.
The restart brought the windows update screen and “don’t turn off your computer” and an update progress meter.
Last time I looked it was at maybe 28%.
A few moments later I was looking at a dos screen listing a bunch of blk2... :HardDisk - Alias (null).
With “Press ESC IN 5 seconds to skip startup.nsh, any other key to continue.
    Shell> _”

Several attempts at rebooting and the escape key made no difference.
How d I recover from this?

Update...pressing the reset button several times allowed the windows update to finish.
I hope to be ok now but I also got a cmos checksum error so we will see.

Have you solved the problem yet ? Please update the bios to the latest.

You may open up and check if anything is touching the fan, it wouldn’t void your warranty.

This is the latest bios and it has turned the BIOS Shell off so it won’t pop out unless you enabled it:

    Thanks for the replies,

I am currently on a road trip, took my GLK with me.
Wasn't expecting Windows to do an update on me. but I managed to get the GLK running again.
I don't have any tools to open the case and don't want to attempt a bios update till I get back home.

Just wanted to let you all know my status.

    Regards

No problem, keep us posted, the bios update is quite simple and takes a few minutes only, it will disable the shell by default so that you won’t jump into that screen again.

    All is well...

I took the fan out of the case about 10 days ago. Nothing fell out and it continued to make noise when I put power to it. So I removed the aluminum fan capture device. Still nothing fell out. I powered the unit up several times just for the system to jog the fan and it still made the rattle noise. So I gave up and put it all back together. The noise was worse; but about 15 minutes later it quieted down. Yes, the fan is spinning but the major noise went away and now it is more like a gear meshing noise and is much quieter and tolerable.

I installed the firmware update about 7 days ago and now it boots correctly. I only rebooted a few times because I keep it running all the time but i'm convinced its ok.

    Regards to all
