So I purchased 8GB Kingston ram and installed it in the 2nd slot but when the computer booted it didn't recognize the 8GB. I ended up removing the 4GB & moving the 8GB to the main slot which works fine. However, I just tried putting the 4GB back in the 2nd slot & now the computer won't boot. Is the 2nd slot defective and has anyone else had this issue?
I bought a 4GB stick said to work here on the forum. It sounds like these Gemini Lake devices are rather picky about RAM. There are a few threads about it.
Hi Dlee, Thanks for your reply! I would assume that would be the case if the 4gb wasn't the original RAM the machine came with . I'll check out other RAM threads too. Thanks!
Have you solved the problem yet? We've encountered a similar case before and clearing the CMOS fixed it.
