Increasing GPU performance

I use a photo denoise program that uses a lot of GPU. I've maxed out RAM to 16 GB and according to Task Manager I have 8 GB available for GPU but only about 1GB is being utilized for GPU. Are there any settings I can change to increase GPU performance?

Have you tried setting both memory allocation options in BIOS to MAX?

Yes with no change. I did try opening 8 tabs in Firefox and I got GPU RAM to increase to almost 4GB. I then set bios memory allocation back to
original settings and no change in results. I think the program you run may have some say in memory allocation to GPU. Not a big deal.
After looking at memory utilization in task manager I do believe I can get by with 8GB of RAM for the way I use this computer. I'll get a 4GB stick and add it to the existing 4GB and see what happens. Will save me about $60.00. Thanks for responding.

GPU memory consumption doesn't necessarily correlate to the level of utilization of its processing hardware. Having dual channel memory (by having 2 SODIMMs) will probably help though. You probably also want to set the processor TDP to the highest setting. (12 Watts I think). That should influence how high the GPU is allowed to clock itself.

Yes I always use dual channel and match the sticks. I'll try maxing out to 12W. The Topaz photo denoise software is notoriously slow on computers
with low end onboard GPU. I have a Gigabyte Brix Pro mini PC I built 4 years ago and it has Intel Pro Iris Graphics and is much faster on this denoise program.

The Pro Iris graphics is indeed stronger. No doubt.
